Beer Pong at Wingman

11:55:00 AM 0 Comments
I've always considered Wingman as one of the best buffalo wings place in the Metro. When I was invited to a game of beer pong here, I just agreed right away even if I had no idea on how to play the game!
Garlic Parmesan Wings, Curly Fries and Black Bean Burrito
Garlic Parmesan Curly Fries for a touch of flavor.
Dip it in their sauce and eat it in one go!
After having some of my regular favorites (above), it was time to play beer pong! Yes, I did not forget I was there for the game even though I was enjoying the delicious fares. Haha! :D

The staff of Wingman started setting up the beer pong table and taught us how to play. I was actually part of the first team who played. During the game, the staff gave tips, explained the rules further and of course, helped with the scoring.

Basically, here's what happened: Beer was poured on 6 plastic cups and lined into a triangle. Each player has two ping pong balls then whoever's it (through a short game of rock-paper-scissors) will throw the ball to the other side of the table and shoot it in the opponent's cup for the opponent to drink.
Like a ping pong game, the ball can only bounce once on the table. More than one bounce on the table is invalid and the next player gets to throw the ball. With one bounce and if it shoots in your opponent's cup, your opponent must drink 2 cups of beer. Without a bounce but if the ball shoots in your opponent's cup, your opponent will only drink 1 cup.

So the goal is to have the ball bounce once on the table and shoot in your opponent's cup for your opponent to drink 2 cups at the same time.
Just take turns in throwing the ball to the other side of the table until you finish your opponent's cup or your cups get finished. In my case, I lost the game. Haha! :D But it was all good.

On this visit, I got the chance to try their newest addition to their menu called "Hell Fire" which is literally buffalo wings on fire! This fiery hot chicken wings spiced up with Carolina Reaper Chili will surely challenge your taste buds.
Hell Fire
This burning dish comes with a serving of vanilla ice cream to cool down the palate in case you're brave enough to try it and need a back up.
A closer look without the fire
Aside from being spiced with Carolina Reaper, as you can see, these chopped "labuyo" (native Filipino chili) will already start the heat when you take a bite into this dish. As I've said above, I was courageous enough to try it! One bite and I had to keep on biting the meat to the bones to avoid making my tongue feel numb. Oh yes, it was extremely spicy! However, what's surprising is that the wings had a sweet and salty note despite having a high level of spicyness. Also, yes, I ate the vanilla ice cream! It was quite difficult to handle the heat so I needed the ice cream to help me out.

After that hot chicken wings, I had the Honey Dijon Wings. I needed a sweet dish aside from ice cream to cool down my taste buds.
Honey Dijon Wings
While watching the other teams play against each other, our group enjoyed more yummy treats.
Onion Rings
Perfectly crisp outside, soft and flavorful inside. <3 td="">
Deep Fried Coke
Yes, you read it right! It's a weird dessert but fun to eat. It's a cup of crunchy coke flavored batter topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream.
Wingman is open daily from 11am - 1am and is located at The Collective, Malugay St., Makati.

Get Clucky at Lucky Chick

3:58:00 AM 0 Comments
Being in UP Town Center, Lucky Chick aims to be the new hangout for college kids during their breaks in between classes or just a place to stay after all the stress in class.

The feel of the place is like an upscale canteen where the menu is on one side of the wall where the kitchen is, very bright & well-lighted place for those who would want to read a book while eating or after meals but the best part of it all are the very Instagrammable walls for those who'd want their OOTDs be taken and feel good about their look.

Their menu contains all the good stuff that you'll want to eat during your school breaks. It's simple, direct to the point and easy to eat. No need for extra effort to think on what to eat!

I had the How to make your own luck meal because I wanted to claim my good luck!

So this is How to make your own luck the Lucky Chick style:
1. Choose your flavor - original, hot chick or lemon & garlic
2. Dark or white meat?
3. Choose your gravy:
-> Original - It's the good old fashioned gravy that you've been having since you were a kid.
-> Honey - Sweet and delightful.
-> Apple cider - It's like a vinaigrette that's gravy flavored.
4. Choose your sides.

My lucky meal!
I had the original white meat chicken, got all 3 gravies to try (not all gravies are in the picture) and for my sides, a biscuit & mashed potato.

The Chicken
I chose the white meat so this is the breast part. It's a bit bigger than my fist, juicy meat inside which is a sign that they've cooked it right and with oh so crunchy skin! I love this with the Apple Cider gravy because it feels like eating chicharon with suka but this is even better!

The Mashed Potato
Who could go wrong with making a mashed potato? Well, you're wrong. A lot of mashed potato in restaurants use the "just add water" ones making their mashed potato smooth but not fresh. With Lucky Chick, their mashed potato is a bit on the grainy side with a few lumps (I love the lumps, they're like the bonus pieces!) which shouts freshness at its best!

The Biscuit
Most of the chicken places in the Metro that offers biscuits have a soft, bread or cake-like texture with sugar glaze. Take Lucky Chick's biscuit differently! Since they believe in sticking to the old fashion, original US style biscuit, they really have a biscuit! It's compact, salty and crumbly. I've crumbled it a bit and added gravy, it's a great match with the chicken!

Here's a little extra for sweet tooths! There's a secret dessert that's not on the menu which I had and is coming out as a regular in the menu soon.

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie
Love that it's big because it's so good! The texture of the cookie is crumbly with oatmeal bits but very well composed because it doesn't all crumble down when cut into half or bitten. I think it will be very good with ice cream which Lucky Chick will hopefully serve.

For those who wants to try Lucky Chick out, they're having an unlimited chicken and rice promo this coming weekend - June 4-5! So go and try it before it's over!

Lucky Chick is located at 2/F UP Town Center, Katipunan, Diliman, Q.C.
For updates, follow its Facebook page: LuckyChickPH or Instagram page: @luckychick.ph and use the hashtag #GetClucky to find honest to goodness photos by their diners!

Buffalo's Wings N' Things: Not Just Your Ordinary Buffalo Wings

8:00:00 PM 0 Comments
Chicken has always been a staple in any Filipino food so it's hard not to resist the big sign on Buffalo's Wings N' Things knowing that they serve chicken! If you ask me what food I'll never get tired of, I'll easily tell you it's chicken and salmon! =)
Look at that crowd inside and outside! :)
Aside from chicken wings, the menu boosts of other American food items like burger, fries, etc.
The menu
The Buffalo Wings' amount of spiciness can be selected between K-Bomb, Ultimate Wingsanity 1.0/2.0, Nuclear and Armageddon. I'm trying K-Bomb since spicy food gives me pimple breakouts so I'm limiting my level of spiciness.

K-Bomb Buffalo Wings
Aside from the spicy selections, Buffalo's Wings N' Things also offers the non-spicy selections like K-Pop, Garlic Parmesan, Jalapeno Cheddar (a little mild spice if you eat the jalapeno) and Honey BBQ. Since I love cheese and was trying to limit spice, I've chosen to try Garlic Parmesan.
Garlic Parmesan
For those who do not like to get their hands dirty from eating all these chicken wings, you have the option to have it in chicken tenders!
K-Pop
Honey BBQ
If you love dips, definitely try all their dips! They complement any of their chicken and give out an additional twist of flavor. They have Buffalo Ranch, Bleu Cheese and Honey Mustard dips. I like the Buffalo Ranch best because of its sweet tangy taste!
The dips
Our server is actually very accommodating with all the questions I was asking about their food. She has also suggested me to try their non-chicken entrees just to let me know that they're not only good in cooking chicken.
Our server, Jesamine, in her Wingsanity shirt which is their uniform.
Since I love cheese, these Chili N' Cheese Nachos are just perfect because of the generous amount of cheese on top! The chili is not that spicy which I like. I think kids will love it too.
Chili N' Cheese Nachos
The Triple Mini Burgers are good for sharing and if you're going for a light snack with friends, these mini burgers are just perfect! The beef patty has the right amount of thickness and juiciness!
Triple Mini Burgers
I recommend this place for friends who want to hang out for a snack or light lunch/dinner while chatting since the ambiance is quite laid back.

This particular branch of Buffalo's Wings N' Things which I went to is located at SM City North Edsa. However, they also have branches in the following locations:
1. Ortigas Home Depot, Pasig
2. Solenad 2, Nuvali
3. Sgt Esguerra, QC
4. SM Megamall
5. Alabang Town Center

New York Style Comfort Food in Brooklyn Pizza

9:08:00 AM 0 Comments
Back when I was in elementary and high school, whenever I'm doing some school project in my classmate's house or sometimes in my house, the usual snack, lunch or dinner are pizza and pasta. Because of how this, pizza and pasta have been my ultimate comfort food whenever I'm stressed out. They somehow remind me of those memories that everything will become fine after all the stress.

A lot of pizza-pasta places are quite pricey so when I first went to Brooklyn Pizza, I can't help but notice how affordable their price is! Their cheapest pizza: 14-inch Cheese Pizza (with 8 slices) is only PhP400!

Brooklyn Pizza's Menu
So I've decided to give it a try and got hooked! It's worth the money and the food is made fresh every time you order so it is really good! Let me show you how they make their pizza from scratch per order:
Dough Preparation Step 1
Dough Preparation Step 2
Dough Preparation Step 3. Look how the dough stretches! Amazing!
Voila! Presenting the pizza:
Here's a Half White Pizza & Half Porko! 18-inches, square cut at PhP680.
Since my friends and I wanted to try different flavors, Brooklyn Pizza allows half and half or even 4 flavors! It's so convenient for group of friends who wants to have different flavors. It will also avoid sibling fights over which flavor to order! Haha! =D
Here's a picture of how happy me and my friends are with our half & half pizza!
The White Pizza is composed of mozzarella, parmesan & ricotta cheese. It's actually my favorite flavor. The cheese on top of the White Pizza smells really tempting. Just one bite, its salty, creamy taste and stretchy texture makes you want to have more! It's really appetizing and will make one think about it for days!
Here's my friend Allan trying to control himself not to attack the pizza right away.
The Porko Pizza is for all the meat lovers who wants a boost of protein! It's composed of Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni and bacon. Perfect for the boys!
A closer look at Porko. This picture just made me hungry! Are you drooling already?
My friend Danet ready to attack the pizza but look at Allan's hand on the right getting a slice of Porko! :)

Remember to use the Chili Flakes and Chili Oil for that extra kick and flavor! I love how it tastes with Porko Pizza!
Brooklyn Pizza also offers pasta at an affordable price! For as low as PhP175, one can enjoy Pomodoro pasta or Tomato & Garlic pasta. All their pastas are actually good for sharing. Definitely perfect for those who are making their group school projects at home, for night out with friends or even romantic dates!

Here are the pastas that I've tasted so far from my visits to the restaurant:
Creamy Pesto with Chicken Parmigiana (PhP230)
Creamy Pesto with Chicken Parmigiana is made up of pesto mixed with Brooklyn Pizza's cream sauce, topped with breaded chicken breast fillet. The creamy pesto holds true to its name. I suggest one eats the pasta first and the bread last so that you can use the garlic bread in wiping all the remaining sauce which will make you garlic bread a whole lot yummier! I also like how the breading of the chicken parmigiana is crunchy but the meat is soft and juicy inside.

Spicy Shrimp Pasta (P255)
Spicy Shrimp Pasta is composed of shrimps cooked in tomato cream based sauce with a hint of chili. The spice level of this dish is on a tingly level which is just right and it's also a safe level for those who are not used to spicy food. For those who love spicy food at a hot level, you might have to add some chili flakes on this dish. I love how generous their portion of shrimps on this dish. As you see on the photo, a part of the pasta has been touched. I wasn't able to capture this dish right away as it came to our table. Since I was with hungry people, you can imagine what happened! :P Good thing, there's an untouched side that's meant to be captured and so this is the photo. :)

Pasta Vongole(PhP245)
Pasta Vongole is made up of sauteed clams simmered in olive oil and white wine to enhance its flavor! I really love the generous portions of the clams and the tomatoes on it just brings out the clams' sweetness! It's a must try for those who love clams. I also appreciate how clean their clams are. I've eaten pastas with clams in other restaurants which still has traces of sand in their clams which is a no-no so I really love it that Brooklyn Pizza has clean clams! I give them a double thumbs up for this! :D

But wait, there's more to pizza and pasta! They also have the best Buffalo Wings that I've ever tasted! It's crunchy and yet so flavorful inside. The spicy level is also tingly but I've seen kids eating it without complaining that it's spicy. Actually, the kids even ate a lot!

Buffalo Wings (PhP185)
For this summer, Brooklyn Pizza has a special promo for all those who want to chill with their family or friends. For PhP799, one gets to enjoy a 14-inch pizza, pasta, buffalo wings and a bottle of 1.5 liter of Coke! It's good for 4 persons which makes it only around PhP200 per person! Awesome, isn't it? :)

So what are you waiting for? If you're feeling hungry because of this post, you can dial now and order this comfort food goodness and enjoy! :D

As you can see, I'm already hooked with Brooklyn Pizza and I can't help but crave for more! I can't stop thinking of their White Pizza, Creamy Pesto with Chicken Parmegiana and Buffalo Wings (my personal favorites)! So if you're going there, you must try them and let me know if you like them as well! ;)
