Filipino Kitchen Superstars Chef Sau del Rosario and Chef Miko Aspiras takes over Corniche

11:34:00 PM 0 Comments
Filipino food is taking centerstage all over the world with Filipinos going everywhere in the world. Sometimes we, Filipinos, take for granted what we have being here in the Philippines. However Diamond Hotel's Corniche took a bold step in creating this limited edition Filipino Food Festival called Filipino Culinary Pride 2018 by bringing in two of the country's most respected chefs, Chef Sau del Rosario and Chef Miko Aspiras to impress you with our country's gastronomic treasures until July 1, 2018 (Sunday) only!

Begin your food journey with familiar flavors that are sure to bring many memories. Like these difficult to find goodies while you look at the buffet spread.

Chef Sau del Rosario, not only a renowned chef but also is like a kitchen magician, creating innovative dishes rooted in Filipino food culture.

Maya Maya Mayonesa, a delicate classic favorite made from snapper with aioli, capers, black olives, eggs and spices.

A must-try is the Crispy Pork Kare-Kare Macadamia which is Chef Sau's signature dish cooked with macadamia nuts and truffle oil.

The Sisig Paella is his trophy dish featured at his recent Napa stint that became a blockbuster to many foreigners.

And of course, skip the diet for a day and get yourself some Lechon, an attention-drawer and crowd-pleaser in any celebration. Look at these Three Types of Lechon that represent the flavors of different island groups of the Philippines namely, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Luzon Buru
Visayas Chili Mango
Mindanao Malagos Chevre and Cocoa
Since Chef Sau is from Pampanga, he also brings into Corniche his take on Tamales Pampanguena.

Other crazy innovations which I've never thought possible but are super tasty which must be tried are the Sinigang Flan and Duck Adobo with Garlic Confits.

Young, award-winning Chef Miko Aspiras conquers the dessert buffet spread to a new level of experience. Very Filipino delicacies are transformed into glossy toys that will make you want them all as it brings you to childhood going into a toy store!

Strike your fancy with Cherry, it's my favorite from the spread! It is created from layers of fluffy chocolate sponge, cherry mousse and cherry chantilly like an evil Black Forest whispering you to eat more and more! Yes, I love it that much! <3 p="">

Luscious yet citrusy Mandarin Cheesecake in Graham crust base garnished with fresh orange segments is a treat you would like to try and explore.

At the live station, the famous Diamond Hotel Ensaymada comes in a gigantic size and a portion will be sliced and served with Flambéed Morada and Rosella making it more delicious than it already is.

Another irresistible confection is Dayap in coconut mousse with dayap curd dipped in praline cocos.

Must not missed on the dessert station are the Keso de Bola Macaron and Grape Choux.

All these magical Filipino food spread can be devoured for only Php2,780 nett per person (lunch and dinner).

And that's not all! You can still get these fresh and delicious seafood from the seafood station.

Plus, you still get to enjoy your other favorite station at Corniche! Mine is the Japanese spread! ;)

Guests with a minimum spend of Php5,000 at the Corniche lunch or dinner buffet will get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a 2-night stay in Baguio. Plus, spend a minimum of Php20,000 and get a complimentary overnight stay in a Deluxe Room with breakfast for two.

For reservations, call 528-3000 at loc. 1121.

A Summer to Remember at F1 Hotel Manila, The Home of Happy Experiences

10:13:00 AM 0 Comments
Back when I was still single, every summer season excites me with planning out of town trips with friends and family to bask under the sun, dive into a pool and soak away.

Now with my own little family composed of me, my husband & a toddler in tow who I fondly call The Lil Dumpling (TLD), going out of town is not as easy as it was before. I worry about the trip itself on how long it takes to get to the place instead of relaxing during the trip. Another thing that bugs me is the food to eat because my toddler might not like the food since it's not her usual food. There are so many things to consider before going on a trip.

With so many worries in my mind, I've finally tried what people call a "staycation" at BGC's home of happy experiences, F1 Hotel Manila.

We checked in through their Premiere Lounge which is located at the 5th floor.
Earth tones couch spaces where you can have a chit chat with friends.

Here's a bit bigger couch space which one can hold an emergency meeting in case something comes up.

Look at the collection of books and magazines you can read while relaxing.
Yummy cakes to snack on while waiting for check-in.

There's cookies too which is really good with coffee or tea.

Since it's a hot summer day, these juices & ice water can cool you down.
Upon entering our big beautiful room, TLD ran around and jumped on the bed! Lying down on a "starfish pose" she said, "I love this comfy comfy bed!" I right away knew that we were in the right place!
Here is TLD jumping up and down the bed while holding this pillow.
I have to carry her down the bed and fixed the bed again for the hubby and I to be able to get nice photos of our City Suite.

Our King Size Bed

Apologies for the wrinkled sheets but this is the best we can do. The bed is as comfy as it looks! :)

Here is the living area and working table.

That cheese platter is part of our welcome amenities. It's super yummy!
Another shot of the super yummy welcome amenity that TLD and I ate in our bedroom.
The shower room

This shower room is located inside the bedroom

The toilet amenities

This is what's in the cabinet. :D

Since we checked in at 1pm, we didn't have lunch yet and before going to our room TLD was complaining that she was hungry. However, when we got in and she loved the bed, she started fake sleeping to convince us not to go out of our beautiful City Suite.

I just have to force her to go out with me as we had our lunch at F All Day Dining Restaurant where they had a Filipino-Mexican Spread which is offered every weekend (Friday to Sunday) during lunch & dinner buffet at PhP1,699 per person.
Cheesy Chicken Binakol Soup
It's cheesy with a bit of spice and rich binakol flavor.

Chipotle Chicken

Shrimp Halabos

Squid Relleno con Salsa Verde
This is surprisingly my favorite from the spread. The squid was so tender & flavorful and the salsa verde just makes it more appetising that you'll be wanting to have more!
Aside from the Filipino-Mexican food, F All Day Dining Restaurant still carried some International fares that are buffet essentials.
The bread basket
There are more breads but this is my favorite.

Charcuteries

The cheeses with nuts, dried fruits, breadsticks and grapes.
The grapes are actually very very sweet!

Mixed tempura composed of fish, mussels, shrimp and squid.

Overloaded Potatoes and Pasta

The grill station

My choices: Shrimps and Salmon!

My Nth buffet plate with bread, shrimp tempura, crab ravioli, nachos with cheese and devilled egg.

Sweet Potato Mash with Torched Marshmallows on top.
This dessert might look weird and deceiving but it's super yummy!

Buco Pie
This classic Filipino dessert has been given an upgrade by F All Day Dining Restaurant but its taste is still very classically Filipino!
Just a few minutes before sunset, we were able to enjoy the beautiful swimming pool. The size was just right and the water was quite clean.
This is just one of the 3 beautiful pools to swim in.
Wasn't able to take photos of the other pools since there were people swimming who might not want their photos taken. :)
After swimming, we saw that the Canary Lounge was transformed into a glamorous city camping set up. There was a grass-like mat on the floor with small tables & big pillows where kids can sit, watch the performer sings acoustic and the adults can feast on unlimited grilled dishes.

To give a feeling of outdoor, night-out camping, F1 offers Make S'mores Memories which is their chocolate and mallows in a skillet with cracker alongside as if you're in a campfire underneath the stars and continuously listen to the serenade until 12midnight.

With majority of the schools in Metro Manila having their summer break, F1 Hotel Manila offers their Summer Weekend Room Package for only PhP4,600 per night in a Deluxe Room and a stay in the City Suite is at PhP5,100 per night.
Look at that view from our room!
TLD was quite sad when it was time to leave. Since F1 Hotel Manila is in the middle of BGC, it was very convenient to walk to Bonifacio High Street and our family loved it!
From May 9 - 16, 2018, F1 Hotel Manila has a special Mother's Day Room Package worth PhP6,300 per night to spoil moms with a signature living experience which includes overnight accommodation in the City Suite with buffet breakfast for 2, one-hour in room massage for mom and PhP500 buffet credit voucher in F All Day Dining Restaurant.

My breakfast plate
Don't you just love how colorful and yet so delicious breakfast can be?
For those who would like to treat their moms for lunch or dinner for Mother's Day, here's a good news for you! For the whole month of May, MOMS DINE FREE when accompanied by at least 2 paying guests (PhP1,499 per person) at F All Day Dining Restaurant for lunch or dinner buffet.

What are you waiting for? Don't just sit there.
TLD sitting on her rubber boat as we wait in the room for the hot summer sun to tone down a bit so she can swim.
Can you just see how spacious our City Suite is?
