Repertory Phil's Take on Camp Rock

7:52:00 AM 0 Comments

Repertory Philippines is bringing on stage Disney's Musical Sensation "Camp Rock" which will be running for one month. The magic of this production is that it brings new actors who can dance & sing as good as the veterans. It is quite a refreshing mix of talents with lots of energy put together in one roof!

The stars of this show are Morissette, Markki Stroem, Cheska Ortega, Nacho Tambunting, Jef Flores, Nel Gomez, Justine Pena, Cara Barredo, B Delgado, Mica Fajardo, Kiara Dario, Hans Braga, Eric Mercado, Justin Valiente, Hans Eckstein, Keano Aniban, Steve Hotchkiss, Fran Jose, Kelly Nicolas, Arianna Norton, Erika Pangan (the daughter of the great Jett Pangan), Eddy Thompson, Rem Zamora, Chino Veguillas, Karyl Factora, Reb Atadero, Tristan Cheng, Daniel Delgado, Jin Dimson, Jim Ferrer, Gerald Gonzales, Toinky Lane, Chaye Mogg, Paolo Ocampo, Shalee Vicencio, Alex Reyes and Jasmine Zabala.

The girl in front touching her bangs in a yellow jacket is Erika Pangan. :)

The show is directed by Audie Gemora who also directed the show "High School Musical" in Manila.

What I love about the show is that it touches the teens who are very familiar with it that are singing while the show is ongoing. This show is like a beginner's introduction on theater. Hopefully when these teens fall in love with theater, they'll want to watch more.

Aside from the great show, I love the set up at the entrance that makes one feel you're in camp! I wasn't able to take control of myself and took some photos with my good friend Caca who went with me.

Donning a formal business attire in camp! Sorry, I went to the show straight from work.

That's my good friend Caca! :)
If you love theater and want your kids to fall in love with theater, let them watch this! For those who are not theater fans, I think this can be your introduction to theater since there are a lot of familiar songs that you'll surely enjoy!

A Musical Treat for the Soul

9:34:00 AM 0 Comments
Back when I was 5 years old, I bugged my parents to buy me a piano. I still remember that it was in the Lyrics store in Harrison Plaza. After that incident, my mom enrolled me to take piano lessons in YMCA. Looking at my curiosity with piano, my parents finally bought one and I played the piano until I was 14 years old. Because school work has been very demanding, I gave up with my piano lessons which require me to practice a lot. I also participated in annual recital competitions but never won so I think it was wise enough to stop my lessons and concentrate on my academics. However, it has always been a part of my bucket list that I will go back to take lessons and play the piano again someday. So when I heard about the event “Forte @ 40” it aroused my curiosity.

Is it possible for 40 pianos in one stage to be played by 80 people at the same time? Unbelievable, right? For the first time in Philippine history, this is going to happen in “Forte @ 40” to be held at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of the Cultural Center of the Philippines this Sunday, November 18, 2012 with 2 performances, at 3pm and 7pm.

Mr. Anthony Say, President of PTGP

“Forte @ 40” is put together to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Piano Teachers’ Guild of the Philippines (PTGP) in partnership with The Cultural Center of the Philippines, Lyric and Kawai. There will be over 300 Filipino pianists from ages 8 – 80 playing in one show! The pianists consist of students, teachers, past & present board members and members of PTGP, festival participants and competition winners.

Special guest performers who will be gracing the performance are CCP President Dr. Raul Sunico, concert pianists Della Besa & Annie De Guzman, Fr. Manuel Maramba, OSB, Carmen Padilla, Nita Abrograr-Quinto, Philippine Madrigal Singers choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio, UST Singers’ conductor Fidel Calalang, Najib Ismail, Mary Anne Espina and more! A very tempting treat for the soul, isn’t it?

Just to give you a glimpse of how wonderful this musical journey will be, here are some short videos during the press conference for your enjoyment!

I’m really excited to experience this very special show. Even if at the moment I’m not taking piano lessons and I’m not back to playing the piano, it will be a very special musical treat for my soul as a reminder that someday I should touch the piano again and play sweet music with it. As of the moment, I’ll just relax and watch this magical masterpiece unfold.

The over-all production team of “Forte @ 40” is led by Dennis Marasigan as Artistic & Lighting Director, Eric Cruz as Set Designer, Antonio Africa as Video Documentary, Ave Asuncion Uy as Stage Manager, Toots O. Tolentino as PR & Publicity and Mari Yuda as Marketing.

A New Chapter in Philippine History: Yehey! Goes Public

11:24:00 AM 0 Comments

After 14 years, Yehey.com has finally went public last October 18, 2012 at the Philippine Stock Exchange. It was my first time to go to the floor of the Philippine Stock Exchange. I have always imagined it as a place with rowdy people because of how movies portray it. However, it is actually quite peaceful. The people are just on their phones talking in a low voice. The only voice I heard that morning is the voice of Issa Litton who was the host of the ceremony.

The host: Issa Litton
Vantage Equities Inc President Wilson Sy said in his speech that a digital marketing company has never been listed in the Philippines before. It is truly a historical moment not just for Yehey! that day but also for the Philippines.

Mr. Wilson Sy giving his speech.
Yehey! General Manager Jay Arellano introduced "Yehey! Bloggregator" which will put all Filipino bloggers under one roof. It is like a directory of blogs to help the Filipinos look for topics and articles that would interest them at the same time, it is an area where Filipino bloggers get their exposure & their articles will be read.

When the speeches were over, the Board of Directors of Yehey! went to the stage and waited for 9:30am to ring the bell which symbolizes the opening of Yehey! as a publicly listed company.

After the ceremony, since it's my first time inside the Philippine Stock Exchange trading floor and it's also the first time of Issa being there, we had to take the opportunity to have our photo ops.

Us again with the Yehey! sign :)
Of course, I must have a solo shot. I'm loving this first time moment!

That's me! Outfit: Tweed Jacket from Mango. Black Dress from SM Classics.
RJ and Mark of Yehey! also had their photo ops since it's their first time too! Our tourist mode was definitely turned on! =D

The guests were invited to have breakfast at the lounge which has a really great view of the stock market floor.

The table cloth even has PSE (Philippine Stock Exchange) embroidery!

View of the trading floor. How peaceful & beautiful it looks, right?
Congratulations again to Yehey! for creating a new page in Philippine history! Cheers to more good times like these and for more success!

Yehey! for Yehey! =)

Dream Christmas Goodies

10:59:00 PM 0 Comments
On my way to work, I saw that there are already some Christmas decors on the streets which reminded me of how soon Christmas is arriving. Since my work as a Digital Marketing Officer in ladies fashion requires me to check out the latest trends online, I can't help but see some pieces that I like so I have decided to save some of them up and put it down in this post as part of my Christmas wish list.

Enchanted Atelier Liliana Comb

I think this comb will add a touch of glam on my hair whenever I attend parties and formal gatherings even if I don't go to a hair stylist to style my hair. Don't you agree?

Kenneth Jay Lane Crystal Lace Bib Necklace
Shoshanna Lilleth Dress

Marc by Marc Jacobs Sparking Bow Bracelet
The bib necklace, dress and bow bracelet make a perfect match! I can imagine myself wearing this on a Christmas date night with my fiance at a posh restaurant with candlelight. I have actually seen a cheaper version of this bib necklace at Zara. I'm still thinking if I should get it.

Kelly Wearstler Twisted Brass Bracelet

Kenneth Jay Lane Spiral Earrings

Free People Contrast Denim Maxi Skirt
Twisted accessories paired with this boho-inspired twisted maxi skirt is just perfect for casual day out with friends on a Saturday afternoon whether in a mall or at a movie theater. The drama of the twists spell F-U-N and A-D-V-E-N-T-U-R-E!

 Shoshanna Bethany Dress

I love how this shiny glittery dress has the right balance of glitz to stand out at parties but not as attention grabbing as sequined dresses. Don't get me wrong. I like sequins but then too much of it seems like telling everyone to look at me which will definitely make me conscious with my movements and uncomfortable that people keep looking at me. Having the right balance of glitz can turn heads for just a short time. It's just that moment where people look at you and think that you look great in that dress then they go back to chit-chatting.

Zara Gold Embroidered Ankle Boots
For times when I'm too lazy to choose a fashionable piece of clothing to wear, just grabbing really beautiful shoes with heels already makes a difference. I'm not sure if this Gold Embroidered Ankle Boots from Zara is already in the Philippines. One thing I'm sure, it's going to look fab on any plain outfit!
